Lenihan Intermediate School sixth grader Hanna Thomas and her family lost their home to the July 19 Marshalltown tornado. Her violin was not usable and with money tight renting an instrument was not an option.

Up stepped Schultz Strings of Cedar Rapids which donated a violin for her to use in school orchestra through high school. John Schultz of Schultz Strings presented the violin to Hanna on February 27.

Schultz Strings will also work in the future to help repair orchestra instruments which will help the Marshalltown Youth Foundation with its instrument lending library program.
