Seventh graders in a project based learning science class taught by Jennifer Edel at Miller Middle School took their learning on the road on March 21.
The students visited fourth grade classrooms at Fisher Elementary School. The Miller students were assigned to come up with analogies for parts of cells and then present them to the younger students.
“Part of project based learning is a component to have their learning benefit others,” Edel said. “One of the ways to enhance their own learning is to explain it to others.”
Edel said it was great to see the conversations between the Miller and Fisher students.
“I was so impressed with the students,” Edel said. “Not just about what they learned about cells and how they work, but their maturity in presenting in front of each other and younger students. My students are proud of themselves and their work as they should be.”
