The Roundhouse Renovation Committee is excited to announce they are selling raffle tickets to win a Harley-Davidson motorcycle!
The Harley-Davidson is a 2001 Dyna Wide Glide II. It’s fire engine red with 22k gold leaf flames and accents and shiny chrome accessories. It has a caramel-colored ostrich skin seat, and is in perfect condition. This special piece of machinery has been donated by the owner and has less than 1,700 miles! The bike is one of Harley’s earliest custom editions, and only 1,300 of these bikes were built for worldwide distribution!
“It’s amazing what members of our community are willing to do to assure that the Marshalltown Roundhouse renovation will be the best it can be!” says Gary Schaudt, co-chair of the MHS Roundhouse Renovation Committee. “Who would have guessed a couple of months ago that we’d be raffling off such an incredible bike! We are thrilled! The Harley will be displayed at special events in and around Marshalltown over the next six weeks.”
Tickets to win the Harley can be purchased at Hy-Vee, Sports Page, Great Western Bank (both Southridge and Main Street locations), and Animal Clinic-The Vet (on High Street). The Harley will be on display with tickets also available at the Linn Creek Arts Festival on Saturday, July 19, at the Fisher Community Center. Raffle tickets are $20 apiece. A limit of only 1500 tickets will be sold.
The winner will be drawn on Friday, Aug. 22, at a concert featuring The Return—a Beatles tribute band out of Atlanta. The concert will be at 7 p.m. at the Marshalltown High School Auditorium.
All proceeds from the raffle will go directly to the Roundhouse renovation. To date, $2.4 million has been raised for the renovation. A total of $1.45 million more is needed to reach the total $3.85 million community fundraising goal.
