Franklin Elementary Battle of the Books team.
Franklin Elementary won the third annual Marshalltown Elementary Battle of the Books held Thursday, April 3, at Marshalltown Public Library.
Teams of 5-6 students squared off in three rounds (plus a tie-breaker round) answering reading comprehension questions. Students competed in school-level battles to qualify for the district battle.
Franklin Elementary will keep the traveling trophy until next year.
