More than $1 million bequeathed by Verle and Ellen Hunt

The late Verle and Ellen Hunt firmly believed Marshalltown was an outstanding community with good people.

And now the Hunt estate is giving back.

More than $1 million was designated from the estate to 12 Marshalltown or central Iowa entities the Hunts held dear.

Among the entities benefiting from the Hunt Family gift will be Marshalltown Community School District, which will receive $100,000 toward STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) programs.
