Lenihan team wins regional Math Bee

Students from Lenihan Intermediate School took first place at the regional Math Bee held April 4 at Area Education Agency 267.

The team, named “Purple Vipers”, placed first out of 15 teams. Team member Bennett O’Hare also placed first in the individual competition. Other team members are Tate Kuehner, Jonah Daniel and Ronaldo Ordaz. Twenty-six sixth grade students from Lenihan participated in the regional event.

O’Hare and the Purple Vipers now advance to the state contest, held May 3 in Fort Dodge.

The team is coached by Jen O’Neal and Kim Gaskill.
