Four groups from Marshalltown High School competed at the Iowa High School Speech Association State Large Group Contest at Cedar Rapids Kennedy High School Feb. 2, with all earning Division I and II ratings.
The Ensemble Acting Group featuring Analisa Iole and Emily Murtha earned a top Division I score with their performance of “Sorry Dude”.
Earning Division II ratings were the Musical Theater group, “Disney’s Beauty and the Beast”, featuring Ilene Finn, Michaela Huey, Abby Snyder, Wynn Tan, Iole and Murtha; the Group Improv team of Austin Safley and Olivia Hawkins; and Radio News team “KLAF” featuring Zakary Herink, Chandler Fisher, and Hawkins.
Coaches Craig Luttrell and Julie Bousum are now working with District Individual Speech contestants who will compete at Center Point-Urbana on Saturday, Feb. 16.
