Jacy Large named next Miller Middle School principal

Jacy Large will take the reins as principal at Miller Middle School beginning July 1, 2012.

Mr. Large is currently Director of Support Services for Ankeny Community School District, a position he’s held since 2009. Previously he was a high school and middle school principal in the South Hamilton School District in Jewel, Iowa. He also taught in Southeast Polk and Forest City school districts in Iowa and in Las Vegas, Nevada.

“My background and roots in Marshall County have positively impacted my own values and work ethic, and I am excited to contribute my leadership to the Marshalltown CSD in providing the best possible opportunities for our students and staff, while facing challenges and changes head-on,” Mr. Large said.

Mr. Large has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Art Education from the University of Northern Iowa and a Master of Education degree from Iowa State University. He is a member of the School Administrators of Iowa, the National Association of Secondary School Principals, the School Nutrition Association and the Iowa Cattlemen Association.

“With the support and dedication of staff we can provide structure and guidance during this critical stage of student learning,” Mr. Large said. “I appreciate and embrace the challenge.”
