Miller student selected for Opus Honor Choir

Frank Iole, a seventh grade student at Miller Middle School, has been selected for the 2011 Seventh/Eighth Grade Boys Opus Honor Choir.

The Iowa Choral Directors Association will sponsor the twenty-sixth annual Opus Honor Choir on Thursday, Nov. 17, 2011, at Iowa State University in Ames.

Members of the honor choir are selected through an audition process. Iole was one of more than 3,200 students who auditioned for one of four Opus choirs. The choir is made of of 180 of the best singers from around the state of Iowa. The Seventh/Eighth Grade Boys Opus Honor Choir will be under the direction of Steve Woodin.

He will spend the day rehearsing and working with world-class directors and give a concert that evening for parents and community.
